The horse out in the field is grazing when suddenly he hears or sees something and off he runs round and around the field, kicking, bucking, snorting and then the next minute he is back to grazing. The day is overcast, snowy, and cold. It’s a dreary day, no other way to describe it. The clouds are gray and hug the surrounding mountains in a shroud of somberness.
The snow wafts down slow, softly and quietly. I even stick my tongue out to catch a flake or two like I did when I was a kid.
These are some of my thoughts, but I wonder what the horses are musing about.
All the horses are standing around turned this way and that way. Their heads are drooping. What are they thinking? Are they wondering when warmer days are coming? Or maybe the next flake of hay?

Telling How They Really Feel
I read somewhere that horses make eight sounds. It kind of surprised me because I didn’t realize a horse made that many different noises. I basically have heard a horse whinny, nicker, and snorting. Of course I had heard the stallions fight on movies with all their squealing and screaming. So this was interesting to find other noises they make and what they could be trying to say and what a particular horse sound means.
