I couldn’t find what I call dude ranches in Maryland, but I did find some wonderful riding facilities.

Happy on Hooves, located in northern Maryland, is one of those places where guests can go for rest and a stress-free vacation.
The riding facility offers a few rides to choose from. The first is the Basic Trail Ride which the horses are kept at a walk for a slower, easier pace. The trail meanders through the trees with views of the country side.
This ride is an hour long and costs $55. per person.
The Deluxe Trail Ride is ridden at a walking pace, but lasts and hour and a half with a price of $65. per person.
Another ride choice is the Saddle and Sip Ride. It’s an hour long ride, but with a wine and cheese tasting at Galloping Goose Vineyards. Now this ride sounds like fun. The price is $75. per person.
The last ride offered is the Extreme Trail Ride. This one is and hour long as well, but guests can ride at a faster pace, trotting and loping. The rate is $75. per person.
All the rides come with basic instructions on how to ride and communicate with your new equine friend. Also, all rides are guided by a professional wrangler who can answer questions and assist.

Holly Ridge Farm offers trail riding lessons. If you need a place to board your horse check out their facility.
There is 194 acres with trails to explore, cross country course, and an indoor arena.
Two rides take visitors through a wildlife sanctuary and by the Pocomoke River. Adventure Trail Ride is an hour and a half and the rate is $95. per person.
The Family Fun Ride is an hour long and goes for $75. per person.
There is a chance to learn grooming and other basics of taking care of a horse. Also playing some games on horseback.
River Valley Ranch

River Valley is located in Carroll County.
The ranch is open to summer camps, birthday parties, a horse experience, and family fun.
Here at River Valley visitors are offered to learn both western or English style of riding. There is both an outdoor and indoor arenas and trails to ride as well.
The horse experience includes an hour long ride through some 500 acres of trails at a rate of $30. per person. A two hour ride would cover more of that five-hundred acres at a cost of $50. per person.
All rides come with instructions on riding and how best to be with your horse.
